Serge Lutens frangrance Une Voixe Noire for Billy Holiday includes tobacco, rum and gardenia

Perfumer Serge Lutens has announced an upcoming fragrance in October. The fragrance will be called Une Voixe Noire. The inspiration behind the new Serge Lutens fragrance is jazz legend Billie Holiday. The notes of Une Voixe Noire will include tobacco, rum and gardenia. Until recently Serge Lutens fragrances have been exclusive to the boutique Palais Royal in Paris. Shoppers interested in purchasing Une Voixe Noire will be able to do so through Barneys New York and online.
Serge Lutens was originally a photographer before he entered the world of fragrance. His fragrances are more about telling a story then the notes. Serge Lutens perfumes are packaged in cloche bottles. This October his fragrances will be available through his website where shoppers can read the story that inspired each fragrance.
Singer Billie Holiday was born Eleanora Harris and later earned the nickname 'Lady Day.' She wore a signature gardenia in her hair. Billie Holiday did not have an easy life. Her life included a period of prostitution as well as some time in Alderson Federal Prison Camp for drugs. Despite life's pain and obstacles Billie Holiday would go on to become one of the most celebrated jazz legends of all time.
